END OF ASSIGNMENT: JAPANESE PHYSICAL THERAPY VOLUNTEER MAKES A PROFOUND IMPACT

On the morning of October 14, 2025, the National Rehabilitation Hospital held a ceremony to summarize the end of the term of work for volunteer Yoshida Yumi, a physical therapist from Japan, who was sent by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
This was an occasion for the Hospital to acknowledge and express gratitude for Ms. Yoshida Yumi's valuable contributions during her time working here, and at the same time, further to strengthen the international cooperation relationship in the healthcare sector.
Attending the summary ceremony, on the Hospital's side were Cam Ba Thuc.MD.PhD - Director of the Hospital, Specialist Level II Doctor. Le Huy Cuong - Deputy Director of the Hospital, along with representatives of nurses and technicians who had directly worked and collaborated with Ms. Yoshida Yumi.
From JICA's side, attendees included Mr. Sato Kota – Coordinator of the JICA Volunteer Program; Ms. Vu Thi Minh Ha – JICA Volunteer Dispatch Program Officer; and Ms. Yoshida Yumi – Japanese Volunteer working at the Hospital.
Throughout her term, Ms. Yoshida Yumi actively worked at two important specialized departments of the Hospital: the Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Department and the General Rehabilitation Department. With her in-depth expertise in physical therapy, she brought advanced Japanese techniques, methods, and experience, directly participating in supporting the treatment and rehabilitation of many patients. Notably, she actively shared, guided, and exchanged professional knowledge with the Hospital's team of doctors, nurses, and technicians, contributing to enhancing professional quality and applying scientific and technical advancements in rehabilitation treatment.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Cam Ba Thuc sincerely thanked Ms. Yoshida Yumi for her efforts, dedication, and practical contributions to the Hospital's specialized work. "The presence and cooperation of volunteer Yoshida Yumi not only helped improve the professional skills of our medical staff but also served as a cultural bridge, strengthening the friendship between the two nations, Vietnam and Japan. We always appreciate her professional and dedicated working spirit," emphasized Dr. Cam Ba Thuc.
Also at the ceremony, Ms. Yoshida Yumi expressed her deep gratitude to the Hospital's Board of Directors, doctors, nurses, and technicians for creating the best working conditions and supporting her throughout the past period. She shared her good impressions of the learning spirit, enthusiasm, and close affection from her Vietnamese colleagues.
The Hospital's leadership presented meaningful souvenirs, expressing the wish that Ms. Yoshida Yumi would continue to be a friend and a bridge to promote future cooperation activities. The summary ceremony took place in a solemn, intimate, and moving atmosphere.
That event once again affirmed the efforts of the National Rehabilitation Hospital in expanding international cooperation, receiving technology transfer, and improving the quality of medical services, aiming to become a leading rehabilitation center.
