JAPANESE VOLUNTEER GUIDED REHABILITATION EXERCISES FOR PATIENTS AFTER KNEE REPLACEMENT SURGERY

Knee replacement surgery is a treatment method for patients with knee joint conditions such as osteoarthritis, knee injuries, and others that affect mobility and daily activities.
The more common knee replacement surgery becomes, the more attention is being paid to postoperative knee rehabilitation. Therefore, on the afternoon of May 9, 2025, the National Rehabilitation Hospital organized a seminar on the topic: “Rehabilitation Exercises for Patients After Knee Replacement Surgery.”
The seminar was chaired by Cam Ba Thuc, MD.PhD – Party Committee Secretary, Director of the Hospital, with the members of the Young Medical Practitioner Club.
At the seminar, doctors, nurses, and medical technicians had the opportunity to listen to Yoshida Yumi, who is a Japanese volunteer from the JICA organization, currently working in the Rehabilitation of Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries Department. She provided guidance on the principles of rehabilitation, the training process, and specific exercises for patients after knee replacement surgery.
The seminar “Rehabilitation Exercises for Patients After Knee Replacement Surgery” provided practical and in-depth knowledge for the hospital’s young doctors, nurses, and medical technicians. It also introduced effective approaches to treatment and postoperative recovery. This marks an important step forward in enhancing the quality of patient care, improving mobility, and elevating the quality of life for patients after knee replacement surgery.
