SCIENTIFIC SEMINAR: "UPDATE KNOWLEDGE, SHARE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS TO SUPPORT PATIENTS WITH SWALLOWING PROBLEMS"
Following the 2023 activity plan of the Center for Continuing Medical Education and Training, on the afternoon of November 22, 2023, the Center for Continuing Medical Education and Training of National Rehabilitation Hospital coordinated with Tomita Pharmaceutical Vietnam Co., LTD organized a scientific seminar on: "Update knowledge, share experience and skills to support patients with swallowing problems".
The seminar attracted a large number of doctors and nurses from the National Rehabilitation Hospital, along with a number of other hospitals in Thanh Hoa province, such as: Thanh Hoa Rehabilitation Hospital, Central Hospital 71, Thanh Hoa Pediatric Hospital.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Dr. Cam Ba Thuc - Director of the National Rehabilitation Hospital shared: "Swallowing disorder, also known as dysphagia, is a condition in which the stages of eating and swallowing are including the mouth, pharynx and esophagus, the disorder causes the patient to spend a lot of time and effort to push food or liquid from the mouth down to the stomach. Examination and treatment of patients with swallowing disorders is a new content in the field of Rehabilitation. Therefore, the National Rehabilitation Hospital is very honored to be one of the first units to organize a seminar on this topic. Dr. Cam Ba Thuc hopes that the seminar will contribute to updating new knowledge and experience for the participating medical team and doctors to apply in their medical examination and treatment work."

Participating in the seminar, members would listen to the scientific report: "Screening diagnosis of patients with swallowing disorders" by Specialist Level I Nguyen Manh Linh from the National Rehabilitation Hospital and a research article on "The role of Tsururinko thickener for patients with swallowing disorders" by Pharmacist Nguyen Tien Phap from Tomita Pharmaceutical Vietnam Co., LTD.

During the seminar, the attending nurses and doctors raised many practical questions as well as raised questions about the practical application of thickeners in specific cases. The questions were clearly answered by Dr. Cam Ba Thuc and Pharmacist Nguyen Tien Phap. Doctors and nurses highly appreciate the Tsururinko thickener product, commenting very well on the specific effects the product brings in treating swallowing disorders.
