Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee Visits Patient at National Rehabilitation Hospital

On the morning of September 25, 2026, Mr. To Anh Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, together with representatives of relevant provincial departments and agencies, visited and offered encouragement to Ms. Luong Thi Thu. Ms. Thu is an employee of Thanh Hoa Urban Environment and Public Works Joint Stock Company and is currently receiving treatment at the National Rehabilitation Hospital.
 

Previously, while performing her duties, Ms. Thu suffered a serious occupational accident resulting in the traumatic amputation of her left foot. She received emergency treatment and underwent limb replantation surgery at Viet Duc University Hospital. Nearly two months after the surgery, once the surgical wound had healed, she was admitted to the National Rehabilitation Hospital because of restricted movement in her left knee and ankle, as well as limited mobility of her left foot and toes.
 

Clinical examination showed that the surgical wound around the left ankle had healed well, distal circulation was intact, and the patient no longer experienced numbness or abnormal sensations. However, stiffness remained in the left knee and ankle, while movement of the foot and toes was still limited. Following rehabilitation treatment, the flexion range of her left knee has shown early improvement, increasing from approximately 30 degrees to 50 degrees.
 

Ms. Thu is currently receiving close medical monitoring and intensive rehabilitation treatment from the Hospital’s multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses and rehabilitation therapists. The treatment aims to improve joint range of motion, prevent adhesions and joint stiffness, strengthen the affected muscles, and gradually restore her ability to stand and walk.

During the visit, Chairman To Anh Dung inquired about Ms. Thu’s health, expressed sympathy for the difficulties faced by her and her family, and encouraged her to remain positive and continue with her rehabilitation programme. He also acknowledged the dedication and sense of responsibility demonstrated by Ms. Thu and other environmental sanitation workers, whose daily efforts contribute to maintaining a green, clean and attractive urban environment.

The timely attention and encouragement from the provincial leadership provide valuable motivation for Ms. Thu to remain confident and persistent throughout her rehabilitation journey, with the hope of making a good recovery and returning to her daily life and work.
